Establishment of the DENSO × Tohoku University Co-Creation Research Institute for Green Innovation
On July 1, 2025, Denso and Tohoku University established the “DENSO × Tohoku University Co-Creation Research Institute for Green Innovation.”
Shinichi Yatsuka, a specially-appointed professor from Denso and the Research Center for Green X-Tech, will oversee the institute’s operations, with Associate Professor Kazunaga Sato from the same center serving as the director of operational support. The institute will promote activities based on the following three pillars:
- Exploring rapid problem-solving methods by integrating NanoTerasu and advanced computational science.
- Searching for research themes aimed at new business creation and generating new value through cross-disciplinary personnel exchange.
- Considering initiatives for future talent acquisition and cultivating advanced human resources, including through professional doctoral programs.
Through the operation of this institute, the Research Center for Green X-Tech will continue to accelerate green innovation through industry-academia co-creation and strengthen its research foundation for the social implementation of its findings.
