New Horizons in Green Materials Evaluation Opened by Neutron Measurement: Hosting the Meni LAB Lecture

event

On May 27, 2026, the Meni LAB Lecture was held at the Material Solutions Center (MaSC) on the Katahira Campus. We welcomed Professor Satoshi Koizumi from the Department of Quantum Beam Science, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ibaraki University, as our guest speaker.

In this lecture, titled “From ‘What Can Be Seen with Neutrons’ to ‘What Can Only Be Seen with Neutrons’,” Professor Koizumi discussed the potential of materials and structural evaluation utilizing neutron sources.

Professor Koizumi introduced measurement methods being developed at the J-PARC Ibaraki Prefectural Industrial Application Beamline that enable the direct observation of actual products, as well as techniques for evaluating the state of water within gels.

The Research Center for Green X-Tech will continue to deepen its knowledge of materials evaluation and process innovation utilizing advanced measurement technologies, while promoting the expansion of research through interdisciplinary collaboration.
